Crystal was born and raised in Houston, Texas where she graduated from Milby High School in 2000. After high school, she attended the University of Houston where she received her Bachelor's degree in English in 2005. After working in the research field for several years, Crystal answered her calling and attended the Vet Tech Institute of Houston. There, she graduated Alpha Beta Kappa and was awarded an Associate of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology in December of 2011. She takes great pride in fulfilling her life-long dream of working with animals.

Crystal's experience includes volunteering for the Houston Zoo in the Big Cat Exhibit and the Houston Humane Society Adoption Services. Cats have always been a part of her life ever since she was an infant. She loves working in a facility that is devoted specifically to cats. Crystal says the best part of her career is being able to witness kittens grow up and become healthy, happy adult cats. In her time away from the hospital, she spends it engaging in outdoor activities and cooking vegan dishes.
